The Syngenta Group logo has landed at Zurich Airport

Made in Switzerland. Serving the world.

There is a new addition to the fields under the flight path leading to Zurich Airport: two Syngenta Group logos made up of 12,000 cabbages. Passengers from over 70 countries will be able to view the edible logo which celebrates our company’s Swiss roots upon their descent to the airport.

Our cabbages are known for their excellent quality and storability. What makes these logos even more unique is that they have been created by our local employees who volunteered to spend a day in the field and be part of this one-of-a-kind planting experience.

After harvesting, the cabbages will be used to make delicious meals in our canteens and will also be donated to charitable organizations in Switzerland. Later this year, we plan to share our best cabbage recipes on our social media channels.

Syngenta had previously planted edible logos in fields around Zurich Airport in 2002 and 2008. We are thrilled to revive this tradition, which reflects our Swiss heritage dating back more than 250 years. With more than 2,900 people in Switzerland, Syngenta Group is one of the largest local employers, headquartered in Basel.

Our six sites in Switzerland - including one of our top three R&D centers in Stein and our biggest production site in Monthey – enable Syngenta Group to offer a wide range of innovative products that support farmers in producing healthy, affordable and sustainable food.

The location of our logo near Zurich Airport was chosen to highlight that although we have Swiss roots, we are a global company working alongside farmers in more than 100 countries worldwide. We hope that it sparks the curiosity of national and international passengers arriving in Zurich, and helps raise awareness of the great challenges faced by farmers in producing enough food for a growing human population while tackling climate change and protecting the planet.
